Yeah, silver was taken.
One of my original usernames here back in 2013/2014 was SilverEevee and SilverLeafeon. In recent years I was username jumping because it was fun, like Ty, TyTM, Smoothie, Mudkip, Scarlet, etc etc. I decided I should probably pick a forever name to be more easily rememberable and for easier access as a moderator as I thought that would be important, think how Fizz, Krlw and Mew have had the same name forever. I didn’t know what to pick. I decided I should go back to my roots since they were important to me at a core level, but I thought SilverEevee was a little cringe, so I picked Silver, but Silver was taken. I think it was Mr. Fish (rip) who said I should go by Siiver, and I thought it was funny and ran with it, lol.
Now that I’m typing this all out, SilverEevee isn’t THAT cringe considering I’m literally the “eevee person” lol. I might change it back next time.

you just noticed silver is actually siiver? so basically if siiver hasnt told you already, its cuz there was already a user named silver who apparently just made an account and left but siiver really wanted to be silver so someone told siiver to just use capital I
