It's not all that bad! I find it best to remove any personal element from moderating and keep to making unbiased, objective decisions, especially when dealing with "annoying" users like you mentioned. The focus is always on what people do/post on the site, and not what I think of them personally or what they think of me. That way there is much less to be angry about; also helps to be filtered and to try to remain professional, keeping in mind that everything I say carries extra weight with the "moderator" title behind it.
