Ive been playing since the end of sword/shield but I haven’t gotten as good as I am till champions came around. I think my main problem with competitive before champions is that it was so hard to change your team up. Like if I want trick room over protect on Sinitcha I have to go get a trick room tm to give to Sinitcha and small things like that made competitive really annoying for me and made it harder for me to enjoy the game.

Just want to follow up on what apokemongamer said. Mega hawlucha is kinda gimmicky and if your opponent has fake out the strategy falls apart. Froslass and staraptor are good but I should also mention that Raichu Y,Charizard Y and Gengar are still relevant. If you have never played VGC before I’d recommend mega froslass as it’s easy to use and has a fairly high skill cap. Plus random freezes can bail you out of bad situations. Also I’m not saying any of this to mess with you This is genuine advise
