I have Ultra Moon. That link you gave me says exactly what happened to Typhlosion. So when the game was saving it had finished taking Typhlosion out of my party but I reset the software before it could put Typhlosion in the PC so the game just decided to... Kill him since he wasn't in the PC or my party.
