How do Trade Requests work in the Chat Room?

I have news. In Ultra Sun, I was trying to hatch a Shiny Stantler using the MM. I think I hatched 18 eggs, and no Shiny Stantler yet...

Ughhh. I turned on a random wild Pokemon code and the first Pokemon I found was Eevee. I wanted to catch him and name him Drifty. Gladion the Sneasel (who I cheat-coded to be my starter) used Scratch and it got him down to about half HP. So I used 4 Poke Balls and he broke out of each one. So I used Scratch to weaken him more, but it was a crit and he fainted. Now I only have 1 Poke Ball and no Eevee. ;-;
