Black doesn’t absorb heat, but it absorbs LIGHT. The light heats black objects up.

If that’s confusing, the color that an item appears to be is the color of what it is reflecting. So really, let’s say, a yellow flower, is actually every color but yellow.

So, when rays of light hit an object, it appears the color that it resists. That’s why, even though black absorbs the most light, it’s the darkest color (well, I guess it isn’t a color, but my points stands).

Black sand is painfully hot.
