yeah. I just wanted to know if there has ever been- or if it was possible for- somebody to go from expert to registered user, editor to expert, or mod to editor, or even two or three steps down.

it's just a slightly edited version of your one right now- I removed the background and enhanced the quality a little bit. that way on an answers, comments, and questions, it's a little bit more clear, and in the case that your answer is  selected as best, it won't have the white square around it. All you have to do is right- click on the image -> "save image as..." and name it whatever you want. Press "ok" or "save" on the bottom right corner of the files folder. Go to Gravatar.com/profile, press "avatars" on the menu to the right, click "upload image" in the middle of the new menu to the right (above "use camera"), and your files will pop up. The edited picture of you current gravatar will be at the top. Select it, and the press "open" on the bottom right corner of your files folder. Then press "done" on the top right corner of the gravatar avatar editor. Now, the picture should appear on your list of avatars. If you click it, it will have a blue circle around it, meaning it's your new current one. Finished! just give the DB a couple of minutes and it will sync up.

So, yeah, sorry for all this stuff that is probably obvious and you likely already knew. Just one of those weird, very minor suggestions that I come up with.
