Well, my aunt died. While I was on vacation. So no.

I just can’t understand. No one super close to me has had a serious medical condition or anything.

I completely get it.

The slightest streak of poetry was put into that sentence.

Well um how do I say this......

Maybe?

I’m bored, so I’m going to write a long and sappy letter that I would never ever write but guess who feels like left out butter.

       I’m very, very sorry for your family, and I very much hope that your grandfather will recover soon. Hearing that a family member has cancer is one of the worst things that can happen, someone in my family had cancer, and I was heartbroken. I won’t talk about that, since it won’t help your situation at all.

       Wow, it breaks my heart into a million pieces to see you upset, it really does. I wish I could do something, but I know I don’t have it in me. I don’t have the right to understand what you’re going through. I’m sorry to pull this out, but, “It’s so excruciating to see you low, just wanna lift you up and not let you go”, yeah, that’s my favorite Afterglow lyrics. It wouldn’t be Afterglow if it weren’t relatable.

       I really hope all of this ends well, I can’t imagine what it would be like if something bad happened, so I’m just ignoring the fact that something could go wrong.

       I’m not only worried about your grandfather, I’m worried about you as well. As I said, it’s hard for me to watch you when you’re sad. I can’t describe to you how happy I feel when I’m talking to you, it just feels amazing. There’s nothing I’d like more than if you were back to normal, but I can’t expect anything, because pain is pain and pain isn’t as temporary as people seem to see it as. I would try anything to help, really, but I just don’t want to hurt you more.

       I don’t have anything to wish on, and no dream could cure anything.

       Just..... I don’t know. XOXO?

                                                                                -Love,
                                                                                       Y

I wrote this garbage, sue me

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before we even had a country, we were controlled by the British who pushed us around until we fought back, and we fought back with everything. Before we had Martin Luther King Jr., Susan B. Anthony, 9/11, we had 13 little colonies getting taxed unfairly by the King of Britain. Taxation Without Representation, it was called. Those colonist never knew they were going to have their own country one day. They just knew that they had to do something. That, that is why we have a country, those colonists and their never-ending bravery.
    If the angry colonists, also known as Patriots, had not rebelled against the British, would we still live in an amazing country named the United States of America? Probably not. They shaped the 13 colonies into a 50 state symbol of freedom and liberty.
    When the Patriots started fighting, they had a small army of militiamen who fought it the Battle of Lexington and Concord. Those men were beaten down by the large army the were the British. Did they give up though? No. They fought harder, pushing themselves to their limits, sometimes overestimating their abilities, for example the Battle of Germantown. But those brave men still didn’t go down.
    What didn’t kill the Patriots just made them stronger. “I have not yet begun to fight.” Well known naval commander John Paul Jones once said, when the British ordered him to surrender. Refusing to give up, another reason we even have an U.S. Though perseverance was not the only thing that carried us through the war. Sacrifice was a reason to. So many people were willing to die for the freedom of the colonies.  231,000 people enrolled in the army throughout the war. An estimated 21,000 died. A lot of people weren’t paid well, in fact, George Washington was paid nothing for his service.
The 21st century has been great for the economy so far, with technology that no one knew was possible just 100 years ago. But we have all this because we have freedom. With this freedom, people can say whatever they want, even if everyone else thinks they are crazy. And those ideas, they are what lead to incredible things. A lot of people though Alexander Graham Bell was crazy, but he went on to invent the telephone. Do you know who won us our freedom? The Patriots. So, you can technically blame the Patriots for your laptop, tablet, and cellphone! You can’t leave out the British though. If they wouldn’t have fought us, we probably wouldn’t be the country we are now.
    If anything has formed our country into what it is today it would be the American Revolution. You and I wouldn’t even be here if this important event in history hadn't taken place. In fact, I might live in Italy or Germany. Actually, I wouldn’t have ever been born, and, most likely, neither would you. The American Revolution is our country, and that is what shaped our country, The birth of it.
