Well, if you're breeding a Pokemon for a Shiny, you'll wanna use Masuda Method. Basically, you breed a Pokemon (easiest if it's from your file) with a Pokemon from another language. Let's say you have an English Eevee. If you breed that with, say, a French Eevee, your chances of hatching a Shiny are better. Foreign Ditto is great for Masuda Method. It doesn't have to be the same species, as long as both Pokemon can breed and one is foreign. Also, I recommend having a Pokemon with Flame Body or Magma Armor in your party with your Eggs, as it'll make Eggs hatch quicker. And if you can get a Shiny Charm, that will help as well. :)
