What is the upside of breeding, rather than catching and training?

I don't get what is special about breeding, I just need a clarification.

Breeding allows you to get better Pokemon.

• You can pass down natures, which cans strengthen a Pokemon's stats
• You can pass down IVs, sometimes
• Level 1 Pokemon are way easier to train
• You can pass down egg moves, which are moves that the baby can learn if the father can learn it

Well, if you breed you can try to get the IVs and Natures that you want, as opposed to catching the same Pokèmon millions of times. There are breeding methods that make you have a higher chance of the baby being Shiny. And there are some moves that Pokèmon only learn if they are hatched, called Egg Moves. And you might just want some of your Pokès to be parents. ;)
