Is it worth EV training ingame?

Its difficult but does it make a noticable difference?
Sorry for asking two questions quickly btw. I need to decide fast.

For Competative: HELL YEAH!!

For In-Game: Not really. Just level the Pokemon up normally. How many other Level 100's will you find besides your own?? None. So if you are just gonna be facing the E4 and other trainers. Don't bother.

2 Exception are the PWT and Battle Subway.
