So, don't the remakes HeartGold, SoulSliver, FireRed, and LeafGreen count as part of two different Pokemon Generations? The one they were realeased during and the one their based off of.
Like HeartGold and SoulSliver count as part of Generation 4 and generation 2?
And FireRed and LeafGreen count as part of Generation 3 and Generation 1?
And I think they count as part of both generations even if it's only technically.
I'm asking this because I'm Curious.
Thanks for anwsering all my questions!

Generations are separated by what Pokemon are able to be accessed in the game. RBY had access to only Pokemon from RBY, making these Gen I games. GSC had access to not only the newly introduced Pokemon of GSC, but also had access to Gen I Pokemon, making these the Gen II games. FRLG are part of Gen III since they had access to the new Pokemon of RSE. HGSS are part of Gen IV since they had access to the new Pokemon of DPP.
