PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

I just got White 2 a few weeks ago and now I've learned about the shiny Dialga event starting soon.
I've never been to an event before so I need to know if you need the National-Dex to do events?

Also, if you do need it do you know what would happen if you go to the event without it, would it just hold the information until you unlock the National-Dex?

Thanks in advance.

>In Pokémon Black and White, and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, Professor Cedric Juniper upgrades the player's Pokédex to the National mode after they have completed the main story of the game. As with previous generations, event Pokémon including Keldeo, Meloetta and Genesect are not needed to complete the National Pokédex.

I would infer from this that no, it is not required to have completed the National Pokedex, and the information of Event Pokemon will immedietly appear after receiving it.

To my memory, I don't think you need the National Dex to obtain event Pokemon. I remember people telling me they were on the way to defeating Ghetsis while using the event Keldeo, so that would mean Keldeo was obtained before the National Dex.

I think you might just need the C-Gear though.
