Hey folks. Had a thought. Suppose I use Drifblim, it does it's thing with the flying gem and acrobatics and all that, but afterwards I have it use trick to nick an item off of an opponent, would it lose the speed boost? See, I know an item has to be used or forcibly removed by knock off to trigger unburden, but I also hear that trick affects unburden differently. So would Drifblim keep the speed boost after using trick to "burden" itself again, as it were?

No. If you obtain a new item, your speed will be reset to its original. Only when you lose/ use the item again will your speed double.

If the Pokemon's held item is consumed, and the Unburden boost is gained...
