Is there any way to get back a lost Blazakenite mega stone?

I got Torchic from the mystery gift for Pokemon Y for my brother. He trained it into a Blazaken but has since lost the stone. I have looked and I can't find it anywhere. Is there a way to get it back? Is there somewhere it might be if he discarded it? If we erase the game could we get Torchic again from the mystery gift? Thanks

There is no way to recover an item gained from an event once it is discarded. The only way would be to erase your save file, restarting the entire game, and downloading the event Torchic from Mystery Gift again.

The Torchic event will be available until 14 January 2014.
