How can I change xerneas's form from neutral to active?

Question

when I first caught it xerneas had coloured horns but when I try to use it now it stays blue and dose yveltal have an active form and if so do I use the same method?

So yeah, it's simply when it's in battle it changes to Active Mode. There's no item or move for form activation.
