How do you wifi battle with just a random person?

Hello, I am new to the Pokemon wifi battling thing but I have trained a lot of wifi battling Pokemon but I have no clue how to do wifi battles with a random person.

For example I want to do a wifi battle like "Shofu" does on his videos. (Just an example) but I want to do it with a random person not my friends.

Could anybody help me? if so please tell me how!

In X & Y, you can go to the Player Search System tab on the lower screen of your 2DS/3DS, click a random person on the "Passerby" tab, click the "Battle" button that comes up, and you're done! If they accept your request, a battle begins.

Note that this may take a few tries.
