How To Recieve Gifts On Pokemon X and Y?

I have just gotten a Pokemon Global Link.
When I tried to recieve a gift from the internet, it always said "There were no gifts to be found", and it still does. Do I need to register on another website?

You don't need a Global Link account to receive mystery gifts. You need a Wi-Fi connection and you need to set it up onto your 3DS.

The message "There were no gifts to be found" shows because there are no gifts available. The Torchic gift ended a few months ago, if you were trying to get it.
