Yes, and in fact, it's more likely than you'd think. Many people breed Pokémon they have transferred from other games, such as Cyndaquil, to get shinies or perfect IVs. The ones that don't turn out perfectly they Wonder Trade, since they have no use for them and others probably will. I have already received a Cyndaquil, a Chimchar, and an Oshawott, to name a few.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Eggs cannot be traded.
  • Pokémon with the Classic Ribbon (which mostly means event legendaries) can't be traded either.
  • Just as a warning, you will probably get crappy Pokémon 90% of the time, due to many selfish people who want to basically get something from nothing.

So to answer your question, yes, it's possible.

9 out of 10 times I get CHEEZBURGA the Caterpie.
It seems he gets around a lot.
Huh. I usually get starters or Pokémon i don't have or from another country,. Only once i got a Fletchling or some othr Route 1 Pokémon. I usually Wonder Trade starters or Dream Radar Pokémon.
i know im 5 years late but im playing pokemon X and i want to get a larvitar which u can only get in pokemon y, is that possible through wondertrade?

Since Pokemon Bank Came out you can migrate Pokemon from past games. However I don't think event Pokemon are capable of being wonder traded, So you can get Pokemon from any gen in wonder trade, With the exception of a few.

Hope this helped
