By freeze I mean the status condition. Honestly, I think that the Frozen condition is broken, as long as the opposition doesn't have Scald or a Fire attack. I know that there are no moves with an increased Freeze chance, but why isn't it usually mentioned, e.g. "and Ice Beam has that nifty Freeze chance"? It's basically a better Sleep condition, as nothing can take advantage of it. It will usually result in either free set-up chances or immobilizing a Pokémon for the rest of the game. I understand that it's not all that common, but why isn't it at least mentioned?

Because freeze is purely based on luck and as others would call it, hax. There is no move that can directly inflict a freeze on the opponent. And even scald has a good 30% chance to burn ice punch has a "eh" 20%. Considering how rare ice is, that makes freeze all the less possibility.

Basically, since you can't directly freeze and it's usually very rare, no one cares about freeze.

The reason for it being overlooked is because of how easily you can thaw out on the first turn also the chances of being frozen is really low tbh would use make something just to freeze something with a 10% chance to freeze
