Can you re-battle your rival (Brendan/May) in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire after you beat the game?

I'm just wondering because if you talk to your rival in his/her house they say if they find you on a route, he/she will battle you. I never played the orginial so I'm curious. Please help me! Thanks! :)

Unfortunately not.
The last time you battle your rival is before the Delta Episode, at Route 103 where you first battled them.

(It seems my sources were incorrect.)
