Marvel scale and refresh?

Question

what happens if lets says I have a milotic that has been poisoned and because it got poisoned it gains defense due to marvel scale then I use refresh and lose the condition will I still stay with the boost I got from marvel scale or will I lose it after I use refresh. also if I dont lose the defense can I keep getting a defense from it if I get another condition?

The Pokemon only gains a stat boost while it has a status condition.
It loses this boost when it loses its status condition, but it can regain it by gaining another status.
