Determining EVs in a Pokemon?

Does anyone have any tips on determining EVs in a Pokemon?

This is what I do to see my evs
Step 1. Get a reset bag
Step 2. Save before using the bag
Step 3. Use up the bag once the bag is completed you see the evs you lose which is your evs
Step 4. Soft reset or return to home, doing this you will keep the reset bag and you know your evs

A white bag with nothing on it it will also say reset bag when you click on it

Reset bag is in xy or oras only you go to super training section of the touch screen and hit the bag repeatedly
