Is the OT of a Pokemon the one who receives the egg or the one who hatches it?

This question might seem a bit odd but can anyone tell me if a Pokemon's original trainer( OT ) is the one who receives the egg from the day care/mystery gift or the one who hatches it ( assuming the egg was traded before hatching ) ?
