Alolan graveler evolution help?

the other day, I was trying to get an alolan graveler through the GTS so I could so I could complete the pokedex. when he evolved, I noticed the screen turn green instead of blue. I checked and it did not have pokerus, or anything that would make the screen turn green instead of blue. ?!

From what I can tell, Alolan Pokémon have a green evolution backdrop instead of orange.

Alolan variant Pokémon have a special evolution and hatch screen, which is what you described.
