Does chain fishing work in gen 7?

I don't think it does, there was a big fishing overhaul, but does it? most shiny hunting methods don't make it through to the next gen.
and does sticky hold and suction cups still work?

No, It doesn't

What you can do though is fish up a Pokémon and SOS chain from there.
