Do I need to evolve a Pokémon twice or evolve one I caught in the wild?

For the Celebi research quest in Pokémon Go, I need to evolve an evolved grass type. Can I evolve a second evolution that I caught in the wild, or do I need to evolve a first evolution twice? I’m asking because I’d rather not test this myself and waste candies.

You do not need to evolve a Pokemon twice. Instead catch a second stage grass Pokemon and evolve it.
Note:For some player Nuzleaf is not working. So keep away from it. Because you could be the unlucky one.

Thanks for the bit about Nuzleaf. I was considering using it but I guess I’ll evolve something else.
