Is it possible to trade in Platinum?

Question

So in a previous question I mentioned how I was replaying Platinum again and I also mentioned I had a Kadabra in the team. Obviously Kadabra isn't nearly as effective as Alakazam, so would it be possible to trade via wifi despite Platinum being nearly 11 years old (and you know the servers having been shut down or something). And if so would anyone be willing to trade with me?

You can trade via local network, not sure about internet though. You could try.

So I currently play my Pokemon games on a 2DS but I still have my old DS. If I bought Diamond/Pearl would I be able to trade between both consoles using the local wireless connection?
