Can the move Endure endure Poison or Burn?

So, like the question says, can Endure endure HP lost from a status move?
Here's an example if you're a bit confused:

Your opponent has a Sawk with 2 HP and the Poison status.
You have a Jellicent.

At the start of the turn, Sawk uses Endure, to brace itself.
You use Recover.
By the end of the turn, will Endure keep 1 HP on Sawk, or will it get KO'ed from Poison?
