if i for example see a shiny totodile in my ss/hg save and i choose cyndaquil, will my rival then have a shiny totodile?

no it would be a normal totadile look it up on youtube i saw a vidoe on it

pokemon from other trainers are programmed to never be shiny. except for one trainer in fr/lg to introduce shinies to pokemon newcomers
