For some reason, Close Combat does not get a boost from the ability Iron Fist. The moves that do are:

  • Bullet Punch
  • Comet Punch
  • Dizzy Punch
  • Drain Punch
  • DynamicPunch
  • Fire Punch
  • Focus Punch
  • Hammer Arm
  • Ice Punch
  • Mach Punch
  • Mega Punch
  • Meteor Mash
  • Shadow Punch
  • Sky Uppercut
  • Thunder Punch

Note, that no Pokemon with the Iron Fist Ability can learn Meteor Mash and Dizzy Punch.

ahh man i was a little too late! :(
Close combat isn't necessarily punching though. It's getting really close to the opponent and fighting them with your whole body, not just your fists. Since you're really close to them, it makes you more prone to damage as well, thus explaining why you lose defenses after use. To solidify that it's not just fists, some pokemon, such as Staraptor, lack fists to use it.
DT yeah i have seen that in the episodes
