What is the interaction between damage berries and multi hit moves?

Say for example, your Yache Berry Garchomp gets hit by a Triple Axel or Icicle Spear. Will all the damage be cut in half or will it only be the first hit? And does Beat Up also work this way against Colbur Berry?

The Berry will activate only for the first hit in both cases.

I tested it in a battle, and as you can see, Garchomp’s Yache Berry activated only for the first hit against Triple Axel, and Latios’s Colbur Berry also activated only against the first hit versus Beat Up.
