PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

I’m playing on Joyous tower, and I came across a monster house. Thankfully, I had an Absol with Perish Song on my team. I switched over to him and spammed perish song. However, it kept saying “missed” and “failed” for a lot of Pokémon. Some did get hit, and faint. But how does it work in this game? Is the hit rate just really bad?

> In Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, Perish Song has 15PP and 25% accuracy. The user targets all enemies on the floor, inflicting Perish Song status condition, causing them to faint 3 turns later (unless the status is cured). This move is affected by Muzzled status condition and Taunt. Being a sound-based move, it is blocked by Soundproof.

> In Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky, the move's accuracy has been decreased to 15%. Additionally, it can now be reflected back by Magic Coat.

I think it just has really terrible accuracy, but Bulbapedia doesn't say anything about DX specifically.

In Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky, the move's accuracy has been decreased to 15%. Additionally, it can now be reflected back by Magic Coat.

Perish Song (Bulbapedia)

Mystery Dungeon DX is generally consistent with other Mystery Dungeon games in terms of move mechanics, so it's a safe bet to say Perish Song just has low accuracy. It can be estimated at somewhere between 15% and 25% based on earlier data points.
