How to evolve Inkay on the Nintendo Switch 2 in Legends: Z-A?

I’m using Medium candies, handheld, I have flipped it upside down, I have put the joycons on backwards, upside down, and backwards and upside down, and also backwards upside down. I am struggling. Help. I’m past level 30 as well

Yeah this is one of the stupidest evolution methods of all time. Here's how to do it in Z-A, either on the regular Switch or the Switch 2:

Requirements:

• Inkay is level 30 (which is already true for you)

Steps:

• Put Inkay in your party.
• Put your device in Handheld Mode, with the both the Joy-Cons in (not necessarily backwards).
• Hold the entire console upside-down, so the Joy-Cons are on right, but them and the device are upside-down.
• Select Inkay in your party and the evolution option should pop up, along with "check summary" and "change moves" and the other ones.

and also, if it doesn't work, consider the possibility that there's a technical problem with the console, such as the Joy-Cons not being connected properly or even the device's interior direction sensor being broken

If you were playing with a pro controller and try playing in handheld mode without turning off the switch and then back on, it will not show up.  You have to start the console in handheld mode in order to evolve Inkay (by holding the switch upside down).
