In gen 1, a critical hit's damage multiplier depends on the attacker's level and can be between 1.5 and 2. They also ignore all stat changes.
In gen 2, critical hits ignore stat changes, burns, and screens, unless the user's attack stat is raised to a higher stage than the target's defense stat.
In gen 3 onward, critical hits always ignore the attacker's negative stat changes, the target's positive stat changes, and screens.
Sniper raises damage done by critical hits. Galarian Farfetch'd can evolve into Sirfetch'd after landing 3 critical hits in one battle.
