Vessel of Ruin affects all Pokemon on the field and therefore cannot usually be blocked by Abilities that ignore other Abilities. There are some exceptions:
- Mold Breaker, Teravolt, and Turboblaze will prevent Vessel of Ruin from activating if a Pokemon with one of the former forces in the latter (e.g. with Dragon Tail, Roar, etc). Otherwise, they have no effect.
- Neutralizing Gas suppresses most Abilities, including Vessel of Ruin. This is not the same as ignoring an Ability, but the outcome is the same most of the time.
- Mycelium Might is the only other Ability that ignores Abilities, but as it only activates when the bearer uses a status move, its interactions with Vessel of Ruin are inconsequential.
