Tips on a Pokewalker?

I'm going to get a Pokewalker in the coming days for my Japanese HeartGold. If you have got experience with the pedometer, please tell me tips about it.

As someone who loves the pokewalker, I believe this is answerable

If someone doesn’t beat me to it, I’ll post an answer. Here’s the big things:

As a kid, I used to put my pokewalker in a pillowcase and shake it. You could also build mechanisms (tm) to build the steps.

The pokewalker is tied to only ONE game. If it has a save on the pokewalker, you won’t be able to use it with another copy. This CAN be reset, though.

I never had a pokewalker as I was still a dead mass of brainless toddler while it was a thing so I’ll let you answer this. (As I know nothing about it)
