How does Seaking become immune to electricity just by having the ability Lightningrod?

I can understand Rhydon for example, but surely Seaking attracts the lightning and it zaps her?

So, the Seaking draws the electricity, and efficently converts it into Sp. Attack

So, since the electricity is converted in Sp Attack, the Electricity has no damage left, as the damaging effect is simply converted.

Anyway, It is how Gamefreak created it....
