I think that it is completely legal to necropost on such posts that have no satisfying answers, to deliberately bump them up the recent activity list. People would see it there, and it may get a good answer.

I would go ahead and say no, if the answers aren't satisfying then a new answer can just be posted on the question. Re-asking the question brings nothing new to the table. The comments above pretty much give solutions so try to follow those although don't "bump" a post that is incredibly old because that is just pointless.
