A block user feature?

Hi, the chat on this site seems to have some really annoying users. Me and some other people would love the feature of blocking an user (not seeing his or her messages in the chat, unable to post on your wall).

That is the whole idea of muting someone.
You don't see his messages in the chat, and no, this doesn't leave out parts of the communication if it's a troll or an annoying person, so that's not a good argument.

But I thought block only prevents the target from switching out. If it could allow you to completely ignore the target, wouldn't that be broken?

No, because if the target has been annoying you, you don't have to deal with it anymore!
