Not really. Only the Chimera Ant arc is about destroying dangerous creatures. Hunters are powerful beings who have to go through a hard exam to earn their title. With the the hunter title you gain the Hunter license which allows you many advantages.

The Hunter Exam Arc:
It is about the main charecter, Gon trying to earn his Hunter License. All of Gon and his friends, apart from Killua(his best friend), get the license. Killua's evil older brother manipulated Killua to fail the exam. Killua feels ashamed of his actions and does not want to see his friends because he is disappointed with himself.


I will tell you about one arc each day
