It took me a while to realize that your long wall post was not my own xD
And I guess those are all the ghosts I know of too. Some people argue that all the human souls are technically ghosts as well, but imo that's stretching it a bit :P.

They say guilt, fear (or doubt), frustration, hopelessness and boredom are the chief causes that stop a person in their tracks, or break their 'determination' to move on. I've noticed that both runs apply these (except boredom, because that's against the dramatic spirit of the Pacifist).
However, these feelings are entirely masked by the fact that you are 100% sure of doing the right thing. You know that no matter what, you have done everything in your power to shield your humanity, and it's somewhat satisfying. Somewhere down the line, you don't even have to try to bring out your determination, it just pours out on it's own.

The opposite of the above line is also true though: when you are 100% sure that what you're doing is WRONG, all those factors amplify. The Genocide run emotionally challenges the player by making them work against their conscience. It brings out every ounce of your determination. What's worse is that you know you're not in for a happy ending. Eventually, after killing Sans (the last hurdle), you have defiantly stared into this abyss long for it to possess you.

I personally believe that people just blame Chara for their own doings in the game, forgetting that Chara isn't materialized till the very end, and until then is only a 'feeling' which resonates in Frisk's soul. Frisk, or the player, is the one responsible. That's why I felt Chara's question, "You think you are above consequences?" come off as a really solid slap to reality.

It's not fair that I'm the only burdened guy here so I just ripped off a page from my bro's diary ;D (which I just happened to read at some point, don't judge me >.>)
