here is the newest version of my HeatRodon core Sand Team. improvements or ideas welcome:

Hippowdon @ Rocky Helmet
Trait: Sand Stream
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
EVs: 252 HP/ 212 Def/ 44 Atk
- Earthquake
- Yawn
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
Meet the Weather Setting Lead and Physical Wall of this team. Mostly meant to Stall, set up Sand, and Yawn Spam with the occasional Slack Off Recovery mixed in to maximize Rocky Helmets backlash.

Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Justified
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 4 SDef
- Close Combat
- X-Scissor
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
Revenge Killer Pro-G. this thang easily rips a weakened opponent limb from limb. amazing coverage and baws typing with Dual STAB moves.

Claydol @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Levitate
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
EVs: 252 SDef/ 212 Def/ 44 HP
- Ice Beam
- Cosmic Power
- Grass Knot
- Rest
Special Wall. Figured running Cosmic Power Buffs Claydol's Def stat too, allowing it limited Mixed Walling ability. ChestoRest set fit the bill perfectly. Ice Beam covers Grass Weakness, and Grass Knot covers Water Weakness, leaving only Dark and Ice, which are still covered by neutral type moves. sets up and easily outstalls and outwalls the opponent.

Stoutland @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Rush
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 4 SDef
- Crunch
- Return
- Superpower
- Wild Charge
Banded StoutSand :B amazing Revenge killer/late game sweeper. Baws coverage and hits harder than you would initially think. easily destroys unprepared teams.

Gastrodon @ Life Orb
Trait: Storm Drain
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
EVs: 252 HP/ 212 SDef/ 44 SAtk
- Scald
- Stockpile
- Ice Beam
- Recover
Special Tank. after 3 Stockpiles, this thing is bulky as hell, and if Scald inflicts a Burn on a Physical attacker, they are shut right down. Recover is evilly abusable recovery, and Switching into a Water attack with Storm Drain and Life Orb makes it hit hard too.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
EVs: 252 Spd/ 144 SAtk/ 112 HP
- Fire Blast
- Torment
- Earth Power
- Substitute
TormenTran. Alongside Gastrodon, easily covers Sand teams weakness to Water, Grass, Ice, and Fighting types. Torment and Substitute make breaking Heatran so much harder, and it doesn't have any lack of Fire Power in its own right either. The combination of Hippowdon, Gastrodon, Stoutland, and Heatran alone have made this team amazing. Terrakion is icing on the cake, and i got bored and decided to Swap my Gliscor for Claydol. so far, so good.

so any suggestions, critiques, ideas, comments, concerns, political opinions, or replacements??

Claydol is ONLY good at spinning, and it's not even very good at that.
i haven't had too many issues with it, other than lack of HP. do you have a better idea for a Specially Defensive Wall not named Blissey/Chansey??
I suggest you replace claydol with forretress. Claydol isn't really that good at walling with it's meh typing and besides, your team needs a rapid spinner. Without one, Skarmory and Tentacruel can wreck your team with spikes and stealth rock/toxic spikes. Here is the set you could use:
Forretress@Leftovers
252 Defense, 252 Special Defense, 4 HP
Careful
Toxic Spikes
Spikes
Rapid Spin
Pain Split
Also, Hydriegon can easily counter your Heatran. Might want to replace torment with dragon pulse.
