Pokémon Rate My Team

So I made the beginning of this team a few weeks ago and then I forgot about it. Today I remembered it was in my notes and I got Erickhill. to help me finish it and fix a few problems. So here goes nothing!

Ninetales @ Leftovers
Ninetales
Trait: Drought
EVs: 108 HP / 4 Def / 144 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Solarbeam
- Flamethrower
- Sunny Day
- Will-O-Wisp

108 HP is for some bulk while still being able to hit with relative power, and max speed is to ensure I can out up Sunny Day and W.O.W on Politoed and Tyranitar/Hippowdon repectively. Flamethrower is main STAB, SolarBeam is for maximum power, and I can actually use it thanks to Sunny Day, which pretty much screws Politoed, which happens to be one of the most common Ninetales switch-ins in OU. Lastly, W.O.W. is mainly for Tyranitar switch-ins but can also be used to cripple a slew of opposing physical threats.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Tenta
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Giga Drain
- Ice Beam

Tentacruel serves as the rain counter for the team with Rain Dish, and it is also my spinner and special wall. Rapid Spin gets rid of Spikes and SR, which sometimes means the difference between winning or losing a battle. Toxic Spikes serves as support and is very helpful. Giga Drain and Ice Beam serve as coverage, although I have been pondering replacing Giga Drain for Knock Off.

Sawsbuck @ Life Orb
BoneSawsbuck
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Horn Leech
- Nature Power
- Return
- Swords Dance

Sawsbuck is my Chlorophyll abuser and even with only 200 Speed EVs it is hitting 552 Speed in the sun, and after a Swords Dance its Attack is at 656. After a Swords Dance or two if I am given the oppurtunity (And that oppurtinity is given more than one might think) I can begin sweeping. Often, I can regain almost all of my HP with just 1 hit from Horn Leech, which then allows me to use Double Edge over Return, as I can easily heal off the recoil damage. Nature Power turns into Earthquake in all battles and serves as great coverage, but I have been considering Jump Kick to hit Ferrothorn harder.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Destructran
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Fire Blast

Not only is ScarfTran (AKA DestrucTran) unpredictable but it hits like an artillery cannon. Earth Power is there mostly to hit other Heatrans, while Fire Blast is main STAB, and that sun boost it hits ridiculously hard. Hidden Power Ice is to nail common Heatran switch-ins such as Gliscor and Landorus, while Overheat is to be used if you need overwhelming power, just beware of that SAtk drop. One thing that this Heatran has over other Heatrans is that it is highly unpreditcable, since most Heatrans in today's OU metagame run defensive sets. Also, if I manage to get a Flash Fire boost, the enemy team will be left in shambles, if left at all :D

Dugtrio @ Focus Sash
Dugtrio
Trait: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Suckerpunch
- Earthquake
- Reversal
- Stealth Rock

Dugtrio can troll so hard with Arena Trap, and it is maonly used to trap and kill key enemies, specifically opposing weather inducers. Tentacruel's Rapid Spin support allows him to keep his Sash ready to and untouched by hazards most of the time, and using this he can take down other Ninetales with EQ, Reversal is the death of T-tar and Abomasnow, and Suckerpunch is amazing for revenge killing (which it is already great at) and killing Psychic and Ghost types after trapping them.

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Dragonite
Trait: Mutiscale
EVs: 252 Atk, 156 SDef, 100 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Roost
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch

I sacrificed some speed for a bit of Special Bulk, and it really does help. Typcally once I set up 2 Dragon Dances I am ready to sweep, and 2 Dragon Dances is something he has little trouble setting up. Roost is for recovery, and works really well with Multiscale. Dragon Claw is STAB and Fire Punch takes down Steel types as well as being boosted by the Sun.

Yep, Seed Freak was happy to help you. xD
Yeah, he helps a lot of people
And "Choice as card Heatran"? Don't you mean Choice Scarf Heatran?
Seed Freak might have been happy to help, but Auto-Correct was bent on making me look like a caveman as far as grammatical issues.
Doesn't heatran with only quiet nature able to get eruption?
No prob B3N. I may take that Sawsbuck set for myself lol genious idea <3

I'm liking the team but you are missing some needed coverage and such.
Appart from that everything looks pretty decent.
One massive problem i see though is that you lack rocks that take priority over T-Spikes due to it shutting down so many pokemon instantly.
Also the team is built to a point where a spinner isn't essential as it hits only 2 pokemon for 25% damage.
Damage that can be recovered.
So i will make a replacment which shall benefit the team by countering both sand and opposing sun teams.

Ninetails
I have read smogons reasoning for this and i understand it but personally i still hate the set.
You see Ninetails isn't so bulky and your not going to stay in to use sunny day against an opposing Tyranitar or Politoed.
I can see it working when you cant afford to switch much more but even then is it really worth a move slot.
Currently your using grass and fire coverage.
That isn't great especially against pokemon like Heatran and Tyranitar.
Solar Beam is a 3hko on Tyranitar and then you have to remember sun isnt up.

Personally i think you should drop Solar Beam for Eneregy Ball for realiability in situations such as Rain when you can't afford to Sunny Day.
Also i would defintly drop Sunny Day for Hidden Power Fight.
This helps you hit Heatran and Tyranitar on the switch in. Neither is a ko but it will not be far from it.
Also Ninetails is not one to sweep. Even in sun it lacks power so maybe try out Overheat afterall its not like you will be staying in long.

Tentacruel
As is said rocks take over Spikes but there is more reasoning for this replacment.
Ok so I'm assuming Tenta is here to wall rain teams in paticular right? well then what you have walled Politoed and now you are at a point where you cant do anything but be stalled to death.

Try Ferrothorn with standard set and rocks.
He will wall rain teams for the most part with sand teams as well.
Rocky Helmet will be a nice item here as it provides a nice switch in on Dragonite or Gyarados locked into outrage or stuck with Waterfall.

Alternativly you could try Hippowdon with sand force.
He is a great sand team counter, one of the best there is but then again that is making your water weakness a tad bigger.

Sawsbuck
A Swords dance set just seems a better idea seen as a CBand set isnt great for a Chlorophyll sweeper.
Your set is also running 3 Normal attacks lol
~ Swords Dance
~ Horn Leech
~ Return
~ Nature Power / Jump Kick
That is what smogon is telling me and it looks pretty good.
Set up isn't even needed in most cases due to nice stab coverage and life orb support.

Heatran
Baws just run Hp Ice over Dragon Pulse as it hits so much more and even in some cases hits harder.

Dugtrio
Fine by me looks good.

Dragonite
Persnally i like to run Superpower on my Dragonites as it hits lots very hard including the pokemon that currently wall you.
You may want to try it out over Roost.
But obviously that would mean changing the evs around.
Also you now lack a Choice Band sweeper.
Obviously they are not essential but i used Smogons CBand Dragonite a while back and it was very good.
It hit everything incredibly hard and its Fire Punch would be boosted on this team.

I know i didnt change much but most changes would be personal preferance.

Ok, I've got a chance to comment here (we are on a trip) and I have some things to add. Sunny Day on Ninetales is not to be used after the switch, but before it. You use sunny day when you predict an enemy weather starter to switch in, and Solarbeam was there because I has Sunny day. I do however understand what you were saying and I can relate to it as well. Also, you are forgetting that in PO/PS Nature Power turns into Earthquake so technically I only have 2 Normal attacks. Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it!
My mistake I thought nature power was the berry move lol
Okay, allow me to comment.
Blob, Tentacruel can stay if it wants. Its Poison typing provides a counter to Toxic Spikes, and blocks Toxic. If Ninetales gets Posioned....yeah... It also provides essential Rapid Spin. Remember that Sun teams NEED to win the weather war to succeed, as most Sun sweepers are not as good when other weather comes in. Ninetales taking 25% every time it switches in isn't great, and Tentacruel can solve that. Yes, I know Stealth Rock is important. So run Stealth Rock > Sucker Punch on Dugtrio. It's fast enough to set it up, anyway, and Sucker Punch is weak with Dugtrio's lame Attack stat. Plus, its blazing Speed already eliminates the need for it. EdgeQuage already provides nearly perfect neutral coverage in the tier, anyway.
I see where your coming from but i still dont see it doing much for the team its coverage isn't great and if you wanted a similar role with all 3 hazards Forretress does the same.
It also can wall water types to some extent and can do it easyly in sun.
It has better synergy with the team proving a needed pysical wall.
I guess Tentacruel could stay but i dont see it being the sturdiest pokemon to get hazards up.
I know its bulky but it doesnt want to be taking hits from tyranitar and terrakion who will tear it appart with stone edge.
But then again forretress is avalible but i just didn't see a pokemon that really reallys on sun excluding Sawsbuck meaning sun isn't always crucial to be up. In cases of rain and a thunder problem then you always have Dugtrio as an option instead of reallying on Ninetails to switch in constantly.
I like Sucker Punch on Dugtrio :D Prioritys priority and its always usefull.
Sure its attack isnt great but its good for finishing off pokemon like Politoed. or scarfed pokemon like Latios. It also helps hit other pokemon hard for se rather than neutral damage.
