Pokémon Rate My Team

My team still feels very clumpy to me. I still cannot get passed over legendary's. Other than that my team's performance has been good. I do not play competitively, but I am starting to get into it (at the time I did not know Drizzle + Swift Swim is banned in OU as I said I am just starting to play competitively).

Politoed
Politoad @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Ability: Drizzle

  • Encore
  • Protect
  • Scald
  • Hypnosis

I was originally using Politoad just to set up the rain. Then I thought to myself that she can be used to burn off big threats. Against other weather teams I was considering in switching a move to put in rain dance, but why would I do that since I have permanent rain. I considered switching her defense EV's to special defense because she has more SDef. than Defense and I already have two other bold natured Pokemon in my team. Hypnosis explains itself. Protect is very useful because without it Politoad would not live as long.

Gorebyss
Gorebyss @ Life Orb
Modest Nature
252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Ability: Swift Swim

  • Ice Beam
  • Surf
  • Shell Smash
  • Baton Pass

As you may have guessed Gorebyss is a sweeper. Gorebyss' defense is horrible. This is where baton pass comes in. After I shell smashed a few times I can pass it off to another Pokemon. Ice beam takes out the dragon/grass types. Surf is used just for coverage. If there are better sweepers please let me know.

Vaporeon
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Ability: Water Absorb

  • Toxic
  • Protect
  • Wish
  • Scald

Water Absorb is not the greatest ability for my wall, but Vaporeon still manages. I am rethinking the nature for her. Calm nature is better because I cannot wall any special attackers due to no special walls. Although I do like my Wish Support Vaporeon, I still want to try different move-sets. Wish is great to heal up my tank if it's low on health.

Milotic
Milotic @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Ability: Marvel Scale

  • Toxic
  • Surf
  • Dragon Tail
  • Recover

I could not ask for a better ability on Milotic. I do prefer Milotic over Vaporeon. Milotic has always been in my team and she is not going anywhere. I do know not why I need two tanks on my team, but I guess I am still looking for the missing piece of my team. Dragon Tail is a great combo with Toxic because I can poison all of their Pokemon.

Huntail
Huntail @ Life Orb
Naughty Nature
252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Ability: Swift Swim

  • Crunch
  • Shell Smash
  • Body Slam
  • Waterfall

Very similar to Gorebyss. The defense is horrible but he is a sweeper. Baton Pass should be added. I am considering to replace him with something that can dish out massive damage and also take a couple of hits. Body Slam cripples tough/annoying Pokemon. Waterfall is great because I can flinch them.

Kingdra
Kingdra @ Life Orb
Modest Nature
252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Ability: Sniper

  • Dragon Pulse
  • Hidden Power (Electric)
  • Draco Meteor
  • Surf

Kingdra is a beast. I was going to make Kingdra's ability Swift Swim but she mostly goes first. Draco Meteor is amazing(plus the ability improves the damage). I love the animation and power. I am pretty happy with Kingdra. Surf is coverage. Dragon Pulse is used because instead of lowering my SAtk with Draco Meteor I could just use Dragon Pulse. Hidden Power gets rid of the flying and other water types.

So there is my team. I know there is a lot of work to be done. It is mostly stalling them out until I win which gets pretty boring. I do have trouble because I am mostly a mono-type team.

I am very attached to my Gorebyss and Milotic. These two were the first ones on the team other than the obvious choice of putting Politoad. Without Politoad there is no other rain and I have been thinking about switching to a rain dance team. Jolteon would do amazing in a rain dance team because of his ability. Or I can put him in my current rain team. If you have any ideas I would gladly consider them. Thank you all in advance.

woah, this is Mono water, not a rain team. A successful rain team must use all different types, not just water. How are you gonna beat other water types? or Faster grass types?
^ Exactly. Also, why did you put Water Absorb on Vaporeon when this is a rain team, and Hydration + Rest would work much better. Not to mention that everything here has a water resistance anyway.
And... Just to say. Swift Swim+Drizzle is banned in OU.
This a Monotype team or what?

@Kronos: This may be a Wi-fi team.
All that said its better than 50% of the teams on this rmt section :L

Anyway yeah rain teams tend not to be mono water as you can abuse plenty of other stuff like a grass pokemon loosing its weakness to fire due to rain or thunder and hurricane hitting 100%.
I'm sorry, but I can't really provide much competitive advice due to this team having no synergy whatsoever. However, if you're starting competitive battling, I can give you some tips.

Rain is the most dominant playstyle in OU, so you want to keep up the rain as long as possible while abusing it to its fullest extent (without Swift Swim, of course). There are many Pokemon to use in rain besides Water-types, such as Volcorona, Dragonite, or Ferrothorn. These are all great candidates to consider if you want to rebuild this team. Also note that not only type synergy, but stat synergy is important to stall. For example, don't have all physical walls and special sweepers when you can be run through by a Pokemon like Rotom-W. Just bear that in mind.

Welcome to the site, BTW. I added sprites for you.

Well you can improve kingdra by keeping outrage instead of Draco Meteor , Ice beam instead of HP because if suddenly someone appears with a Gabite/flygon or a fast Grass pokemon like sceptile etc you will be in trouble all your pokemon are weak to grass Milotic could have done something but its speed sucks and keep surf if U are going to send Vaporeon in a double battle because surf will recover its health but if not then keep waterfall instead it is a good move anyways.

King of Waters
Well if you want to rplace huntail then replace it with Swampert

with a moveset ::-

Waterfall (STAB + AMAZING with Swampert's attack)
Avalanche (for grass coverage, complements Hammer Arm)
Hammer Arm (good power and accuracy)
Earthquake (it's obvious)

Water dude
Your vaporeon will do better if it had shadow ball instead of wish
Rver lord
Your politoed is good but instead I think it is very vulnerable so I would have kept

Hypnosis (Put your opponent to sleep.)
Brick Break(to deal with Steels. Earthquake to hit Steels, Rock, Electric)
Bounce(to deal with Pesky Flying and Grass-types.)
Scald/Waterfall(Your physical STAB, with a chance of burning/flinching.)

Gorebyss and Milotic are good and don't need changes

Lord of swaps

I recommend that u take out Gorebyss and put in a Ludicolo and I recommend this one,

Name: Ludicolo
Item: Life orb
Nature: Modest
Ability: Swift Swim
EV:6 Hp, 252 SpAtk, 252 Speed

Moves:

 - Hydro pump/Surf(Rain boosted+STAB, Massive Damage!!)
 - Giga Drain(coverage+Healing=counter to Gastrodon)
 - Focus Blast(Great power+coverage)
 - Ice Beam(Decent power+coverage)

Try him and he shall serve u well!

Good luck
Sadly, Swift Swim+ Drizzle is banned in OU, just so you know.
NO. Goreybess is awesome.
Like FS said Swift swim + Drizzle is banned in OU
