Mr.Kijani

^ The title because my imagination is currently sucking

Well I have many tiers I enjoy battling in. OU, UU, Doubles. But one tier-type I didn't start with was mono. Sure I whipped up some mono teams so I could compete in some tours on the DB Server. But I was still nooby, so they weren't very good. So then I'm on Amethyst, not too long ago, and there's a mono-tour going to start. They need one more person, so I get pressured into making a team. It's UU mono, and with some imagination lacking, I go for Normal types. Ambipom gets picked up off the bat. and I pick up some others, Scarfed Meloetta @ Charge Beam, Serene Grace Kiss, standard Lickilicky, FatsoSnorlax, and EviolitePory.
Battle with team first time
Who would have thought.

So the team goes into storage for a while, ignored, but not forgotten. Then Erick and I make our first real acquaintance. I find out he is a boss at mono (since he disagrees with being called the Master of Mono) and I tell him of my mono team. He asks if we can battle, so I say sure. As expected I get beaten easily. He makes a few (several) suggestions for the team. So without further ado, my mono-normal team.

Ambipom @ Normal Gem
enter image description here
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- Acrobatics
- Low Sweep

Pretty standard PomPom. Fake Out lead, U-Turn scouting. Acrobatices and Low Sweep for coverage and Tech boost. He's pretty good and works well for clean up later on with his speed. Don't have much else to say really.

I'm thinking of switching the monkey out for Meloetta again so I can get some much needed special attack going on. Scarf Meloetta or CM Melo.

Kangaskhan (F) @ Leftovers
enter image description here
Trait: Scrappy
EVs: 60 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Def / 96 SDef / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Focus Punch
- Substitute
- Sucker Punch
- Rock Slide

Set provided to me by Erick. Hits hard and hits those annoying ghost who otherwise think they can troll the team. Sucker Punch is priority, SubPunch combo, Rock Slide is coverage. EVs provide bulk and attack.

Snorlax @ Leftovers
enter image description here
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 HP / 252 SDef
Impish Nature
- Body Slam
- Crunch
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

The Fatso. RestTalk combo with Body Slam STAB and chance to paralyze with Crunch to hit ghost types. Thick fat to sponge powerful Ice and Fire attacks. EVs are Specially Defensive so he can absorb hits like a pro and return some of his own.

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
enter image description here
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Seismic Toss
- Wish
- Thunder Wave

Better than Blissey as she can take defensive hits wonderfully, "No Mach Punching for you!!". TWave hurts fast opponents and allows me to stall. SR is hazards and helps me get the KO's in on some of those other mono teams like flying and fire. Seismic Toss is steady damage and helps to finish off an opponent low on HP.

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
enter image description here
Trait: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Hidden Power [Grass]

TWave is there for the same reason Chansey has it. Ice Beam is coverage, and how wonderfully it works. Recover is a boss, to annoy all those attackers. HP Grass is to counter Rock, Ground, and Water types, because I sort of lack coverage for them. This guy is taking hits like a pro. See battle above for how well he takes hits.

Staraptor @ Leftovers
enter image description here
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Substitute
- Roost
- FeatherDance
- Brave Bird

Yet another member of this team brought to my attention by Master cough I mean Boss of Mono, Erick. My ultimate Defensive wall. Intimidate is the initial get go followed by a Sub and then FeatherDance to my heart's delight. Eventually forcing a switch while I remain behind my Sub and allowing me to get off a new Feather Dance or a free Brave Bird before switching. Truly one of my favorite ever pokemon sets I have run to date.

So I would like to finish off with many thanks to Enoch.EXE who has helped me and this team in so many ways, and whose username is extremely hard to Copy + Paste.

Max IVs on staraptor or die c:
Thanks for catching that Lebaws. Shows you how noob I am for copy pasting from showdown :P
No prob bro!
HP Grass is to counter Rock, Ground, and Water types, because I sort of lack coverage for them. Why don't you just use BoltBeam -_-
Gastrodon my dear friend ;) You should know, you stalled me with one.
Personally, I prefer speedy togekiss over staraptor using a kings rock serene grace air slash with roost t wave and aura sphere. Staraptor is pretty boss though, so its your choice.
One suggestion I'd like to make is Exploud>Kangaskhan. Due to you saying that you lack Special power, Exploud fills the role, and also has Scrappy. Also the Twave support helps it outspeed and wreck.
Yeah I completely agree. With Gen. VI out now certain Pokes such as Exploit got a chance to shine, and Exploud is one such Pokemon.

And lol dont use that Spread on Kanga, Idk wtf I was thinking
