Pokémon Rate My Team

Hello DB and welcome to my first Uber RMT. Now since I became
proficient in the OU and UU tiers I have been looking to expand my
horizons in the Metagame. I have done this with Doubles and am
currently learning that while I may be the second best Doubles battler
on the site, I am far from the top fifty in true competitive
standards. So I had a few tiers to choose from to expand. My first
choice was NU, but that plane crashed so fast I doubt whether it even
lifted from the ground. So then I decided to try my hand at Ubers. I
have a couple teams, but they are teams rather haphazardly thrown
together without much thought. However this team was founded off of a
sentence from Blobyolo,

“Max Def, Max HP, Giratina can survive a Choice Band Outrage from Zekrom with 1%”

Oh really? And so began the team built around Choice Band Zekrom. Now
Zekrom has three outstanding weaknesses. Ice, Dragon, and Ground. I
countered the last with one of my favorite Uber pokemon. Multiscale
Lugia. Then the ice needed some countering as I had two weak to it. I
was unoriginal and went for Scarfed Genesect. And so the team sat
whilst I mulled over the possibilities. “What did I need on this
team?” And then it came to me, I needed hazards. They would help
Zekrom to achieve KOs on Giratina and other pokemon, and at the same
time gave me an excuse to try out Deoxys-S. Blob suggested it and I
wasn’t sure what to try so I threw something together. It’s been
working fairly well since. Then again the team sat. “Who to add to
this team?” I was at a loss so I hoped that by using the team I could
figure out the answer.

5 battles later, all of which I won….

I get my first loss, 6-0 due to a Dialga and Specs Kyogre. So my first
thought was I needed some to hard counter Kyogre, someone who could
outspeed everything but the Scarfed variant. The first pokemon to come
to mind was my own Scarfed Kyogre to abuse Thunder. But then as I
continued to think, my mind took hold of another candidate. One whom
destroys all with utter brutality. Choice Specs Shaymin-S. This added
another ice weakness so I have been considering replacements for
Lugia, but so far the team has held together. The last poke thrown in
as filler was Extremespeed, you guessed it, Arceus.

The Team is still undergoing testing but I was hoping for suggestions and ideas on it as I have little knowledge as to what sort of stuff I will be facing in the Uber tier. Will be updated as I change sets and pokemon.

Note: I battled Mew with the team and got a 3-0 on him although I forgot to save the replay :(
However I do have other replays saved :D

Replay List

Zekrom

Zekrom
Zekrom @ Choice Band
Trait: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bolt Strike
- Outrage
- Crunch
- Zen Headbutt

A true beast, without a doubt. I use him late in the game after the rest of the team has eliminated main threats such as speedy dragons or Ferrothorn. He works well coming in on a move that is NVE and then Outrage sweeping, or I predict with Bolt Strike etc. Those two moves are generally the only ones I have used as Outrage can get a 2HKO on Excadrill. Ferrothorn walls the stink outta this guy unfortunately.

Thundurus

Thundurus
Thundurus (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Thunder Wave
- Thunder
- Focus Blast

Started as Lugia, switched to Thundurus as a weather counter. Probz gonna change again. Sub serves two roles, sub on switch giving me one turn to hit/TWave or I sub for scouting allowing me to figure out what they intend to do. TWave generally screws anything except ground types. Thunder > Thunderbolt wrecks in ever present rain. Focus Blast is coverage and even though it has low accuracy, it's worth it.

Genesect

Genesect
Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Download
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

This guy is so awesome, I've thought about messing around with EVs to give him more attack as U-Turn is really all I use xD. Fairly standard I guess, serves his purpose which is lead and pivot. Wrecks teams with fair ease.

Deoxys-S

Deoxys
Deoxys-Speed @ Iron Ball
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Trick
- Superpower

Iron Ball? Yes, Iron Ball. Most people will switch out to an offensive pokemon expecting me to use Rocks, or taunt. Instead I trick them an Iron Ball which cripples their attacker. Taunt is fairly self explanatory. SRocks is all the hazards I need. SuperPower is rarely used tbh and when taunted I normally switch out anyway. Iron Ball works, I really like it.

Shaymin-S

Shaymin
Shaymin-Sky @ Choice Specs
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Seed Flare
- Air Slash
- Hidden Power [Rock]

Shaymin is one of my favorite Uber pokes ever. Even if you are lucky enough to resist Seed Flare its SDef drop will likely mean a KO the next turn. Air Slash is nice with Flinch chance (IHU LUGIA) and is my secondary choice. Earth Power is nice and powerful and kills Ferro and Genesect on the switch, so long as Ferro isn't SDef I can norm get a 2HKO on him. Rock is def going to switch, most likely to Ice to get some KOs on dragon types.

Arceus

Arceus
Arceus @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- ExtremeSpeed
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Shadow Claw

This guy is just wow. With his great bulk I can survive a Focus Blast from Arceus-Ghost and then return a KO with Shadow Claw. I normally set up on Ferrothorn, especially with full HP. I can survive Leech Seeding then OHKO with EQ. ESpeed wins me the rest. Lum Berry > See Leboss's comment below :3 Truly a beast.

So that's my first truly successful Uber RMT. Feel free to offer suggestions I would love to try anything out. Especially a new poke to help me in place of Thundurus. Thanks,

~MK

note: Lugia was indeed replaced :P
Nice Team :D
THANKS!!!
The teams biggest Problem is the fact you have no dedicated wall/sponge to common threats. Everything is heavily damaged by common threats such as Kyogre and Kyurem-W. Maybe you could swap Thundurus (which I find near useless in Ubers) for a bulkier Pokemon however I can't think of a valid replacement currently xD.
That sounds good. I think Sunkern would be quite decent as a wall. xD I'll have to look for some. Again my current issue in Ubers is not knowing what sort of roles everything has and what sets can be run.
Ily for Sunkern. Go for a Feebass maybe? :D
Try Lum > Liechi on Arceus to ensure a +2 sweep without getting crippled by Giratina, who can take a shadow claw, and burn the hell outta you.
Will do Leboss, that should help a lot.
