Teambuilding Process

Well i finally got around to it Mr.K, im finally posting the descriptions of the pokemon since you decided to bug me so much about it :p. Anyways welcome everyone to The Stone Age, our OU Monotype Rock Team. Nothing much else to say so on to the team.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Tyranitar
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Roar
- Fire Blast

We all have had to fight a Tyranitar in out many days of competitive battles, and they can be quite annoying. Especially when they are setting up the hazards like Sandstorm and Stealth Rocks that gradually wear out your team if you have nothing to counter them. Instead of going for the Dual STAB we decided to run a mix set giving it Crunch as its main attack to hit our opponents hard, and Fire Blast to hit those defensive steel types that otherwise wall us. Roar phases out our opponents and cause them to take even more Stealth Rocks damage and a bit of sandstorm damage too.

Archeops @ Flying Gem
Archeops
Trait: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Acrobatics
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

The gem of our team, and quite literately since its main attack hits hardest while its holding its Flying Gem. This guy is speedy and hits hard, baring it can stay above 50% health and lose half of its attack. Acrobatics plus the Flying Gem plus the STAB plus the boost when it counts the Flying Gem missing equals one dastardly attack that pretty much one shots anything that isnt resisted. Edgequake combo is oblivious for the coverage it provides this guy, while U-Turn paired with that great speed takes care of scouting.

Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Terrakion
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- X-Scissor

Every team needs a scarfed pokemon and what better for a rock team than a rock/fighting type. Terrakion is a amazing late game sweeper, and the typing allows him to take on all kinds of pokemon. Again we have the Edgequake combo for coverage. Close Combat is our main form of STAB and hits just about everything hard. X-Scissor covers most of our weaknesses.

Rhyperior @ Choice Band
Rhyperior
Trait: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Megahorn
- Rock Blast
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail

To put it plain and simple, this is a offensive tank. Pretty decent natural bulk and paired with Solid Rock he can kind of tank any super-effective move, baring they arnt four times effective. Anyways this guy has massive attack to go with the choice band and breaks just about anything that wants to switch in on it. Megahorn and Aqua Tail are used for coverage and Edgequake gives us not only great coverage but dual STAB.

Cradily @ Leftovers
Cradily
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 84 Def / 168 SAtk / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Stockpile
- Recover
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Rock]

Meet our water counter for this team. He absorbs the water moves to raise our Special Attack. Stockpile raises our already amazing defenses, while Recover heals off any damage we may have taken. We have dual STAB in the form of Energy Ball and Hidden Power Rock which is nice when we get those boost from coming in on a water move.

Omastar @ Focus Sash
Omastar
Trait: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Shell Smash
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Last but not least we have Omastar. Its a pretty pokemon bulky pokemon and can become a offensive tank when it gets the chance to get up a Shell Smash. We chose Hydro Pump over Surf because 80% accuracy is still decent with that extra boost of power. Ice Beam covers our Grass weakness and hits those dragons hard as well. Hidden Power Grass hits other Water types that would take our Hydro Pump or Ice Beam.
