Hey guys, it's Jar Jar aka Jaja here with my first RMT in nearly four months. This is my attempt at Pokebank OU, using the same standard threats I did in 5th gen OU (I sak qq), as well as a new threat introduced in 6th gen, Mega Gengar, which I gotta say is kinda OP. :D So, without further ado, here's the nubby, standard team. :D
Team Preview:
Florges @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 4 SDef / 252 HP / 252 Def
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic
- Moonblast
Florges is part one of my defensive core, and helps it take strong special hits.. Wish is recovery for it, and also helps the team, especially Gengar, stay healthy. Protect is scouting and lets it get a free turn waiting for a Wish to come. Toxic is status and with its good defense and recovery, as well as protect, lets it stall out certain threats. Moonblast is STAB and hits fairly hard, and also keeps it from being complete Taunt bait. I used a physically defensive set just because it has 154 special defense, which is already enough, and it could use some extra bulk on the physical side.
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 224 HP / 252 Def / 32 SDef
Impish Nature
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
- Stealth Rock
- Roost
Skarmory, the second part of the defensive core, is here to take strong physical hits as well as phaze out Aegislash, possibly the most common Pokemon in OU at this point it time. Whirlwind is here to phaze out boosting threats, as well as rack up some easy hazard damage. Stealth Rock is hazards for the team, breaking Sashes and Multiscale as well as just weakening Pokemon for easier sweeping. Roost is Skarm's recovery move, letting it live substantially longer. Spread is standard spread of Smogon, 224 HP so I can regain Sturdy after two turns of Lefties recovery.
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
Rotom here is the last part of the defensive core. He adds a check to Talonflame and Blaziken, both who like to deal heavy damage to the other two Pokes. Hydro Pump is STAB, and lets me deal with the aforementioned threats. Volt Switch is another STAB that can grab some good momentum for my team, and also forms the VoltTurn part of ScizWash. Pain Split is Rotom's recovery. Will-O-Wisp shuts down physical attackers, and also just wears down Pokes. EVs are standard physical wall EVs.
Gengar @ Gengarite
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Focus Blast
Since I didn't have a Mega Evolution yet, I decided try out Mega Gengar, and not surprisingly, I'm very satisfied with it. Substitute protects me from priority, and also lets me defeat helpless Scarfers. Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb are dual STABs, and get nearly perfect neutral coverage together. Focus Blast may seem unnecessary, but it gives me something to hit Steels, as well as specially defensive Mega Tyranitar harder. EVs are standard special sweeper EVs.
Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Rock Slide
- X-Scissor
Scarf Terrakion is here to revenge kill. Close Combat is STAB and hits hard even without an attack boosting item or nature. Stone Edge is also STAB and provides great neutral coverage with CC, hitting Flying, Poison, and Psychic types. Rock Slide is here to maybe get a flinch in a pinch, and also to revenge kill +1 Volcarona and Gyarados more reliably. X-Scissor is here just because it hits bulky Psychic types harder than anything else it gets. Once again. spread is just standard stuff, no need to explain really.
Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit
The last Pokemon I added, Scizor, forms the ScizWash core and gets me some physical power right off the bat. Bullet Punch is STAB priority, and is boosted by Technician for an extra bonus. U-Turn lets it form the VoltTurn part of ScizWash and is STAB. Superpower hits Steel types which this set is otherwise helpless against. Pursuit is here to trap Psychic types such as Reuniclus and Alakazam lacking HP Fire.

Current tests:
Talonflame > Terrakion and SD Sciz > Band Sciz. Mainly for an easier time killing Mega Venusaur, which has turned out to me a massive pain in the ass.
And that is all. :P I realize that this team is not the best it could be, so I am willing to happily take suggestions.
