This team started with me just wanting to experiment with stuff. Now it's one of the better teams I made in my life.
v0lkaroenah (Volcarona) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 204 HP / 252 SAtk / 52 Spd
Modest Nature (+Satk, -Atk)
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd
- Fiery Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Giga Drain
- Roost
Revenge killer and a bulkier sweeper. This slot was originally occupied by Khangaskhan but as it wasn't reliable enough in OU I swapped it out for this guy. Resists Fairies and hits Aegislash and Ferrothron pretty hard, Volcarona earned its spot here.
Fiery Dance is STAB with a decent chance to get a free buff making it an extra nice move at revenge killing, Bug Buzz is my secondary STAB, Giga Drain provides nice coverage and healing, and Roost is mostly a filler to stall turns or heal.
Howl00chah (Hawlucha) @ Power Herb
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Sky Attack
- High Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
Physical sweeper, wallbreaker, and revenge killer. I found out about this guy whlist watching a LP and the person mentioned how Hawlucha can make good use of Sky Attack. Looked up his info here and it has Uburden to complement the Power Herb it can carry. Instant respect earned.
As stated, Sky Attack hits really damn hard for free with a nice boost in speed afterwards allowing me to smash walls and keep sweeping. High Jump Kick is a risky bet without Hone Claws or a Zoom Lenses but the amount of power with STAB was quite hard to turn down. U-Turn and Stone Edge are good moves to have, so those are there to take up the last two slots.
Dee0xos sp33d (Deoxys-Speed) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 104 Def / 56 SDef / 96 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Psyshock
- Trick
The trolling set I posted earlier. I was feeling a Scarf trickster and I came across Deoxys Defense and Speed. I originally used Defense, but it had little need to live for such a long time so I switched it up to Speed. On a different note, I'm not that great at EV spreads, but this one works fine for me. 96 invested in Speed is enough to outspeed most things with 420 Speed. That just allowed me to just put in my jumbled mess in the rest of my defensive stuffs.
I like entry hazards, so I like Stealth Rock, Taunt is there if I feel like making something struggle after I trick my scarf off to a setup Pokémon. Trick is the heart and soul and a pretty self-explanatory thing with this guy.
I'm also considering Role Play to replace Taunt or Stealth Rock on this guy.
Grin1njah (Greninja) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
IVs: 30 Def / 30 SDef
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- Surf
- Shadow Sneak
I wanted another fast sweeper and a standard Greninja set seemed to fit the bill. Despite the fact that I would still choose Chespin as my starter if I get a 3DS by chance, this Ninja isn't too bad either.
Ice Beam brutalizes dragons like Salamence and Dragonite while Surf and Dark Pulse are respectable moves with Greninjas SAtk and Protean. I choose Shadow Sneak over Hidden Power Ghost because I can get up a handy immunity to Normal and Fighting with Protean on a priority move.
Bleesei (Blissey) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 100 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 152 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Aromatherapy
- Counter
- Water Pulse
- Toxic
Blissey never ceases to disappoint me. I strayed away from the usual stalling/support set and went to a trolly set. Gotta love the feeling when you take out someone's star sweeper with this odd set.
Aromatherapy is a nice support move that apparently gets less attention than the identical Heal Bell. Water Pulse is just plain annoying when combined with Serene Grace for a 60% confusion chance. Toxic is also a nice move to have on Blissey so I can timer someone's time in battle. Counter is definitely the most fun part about this set though, despite low defenses, the high HP makes up for it nicely allowing me to get a guaranteed Counter KO on whenever I get it off.
Lewkareo (Lucario) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake
On the day of Gen VI, Lucario gets a nice buff in its attacking stats. Might want to try it out on a priority sweeping role again. If I can catch someone off guard or unprepared with this Physical Sweeper, this guy can cause a LOT of damage, even sweeping out whole teams on occasions. Even without a Swords Dance, this thing can still hold up decently.
Swords Dance and Focus Sash is a decent combo as Lucario is pretty frail and Bullet Punch is my main sweeping move with that nice priority. Close Combat is hard-hitting STAB where the defense loss won't matter at 1HP while Earthquake is coverage.
